Roadside Assistance Anthology
Roadside Press has released a new anthology called Roadside Assistance, containing a sampler of poetry from books they’ve published over the last few years. Four of the poems within (“Transference,” “Pastoral,” “Wane,” “and Prophecy”) are from my book Cistern Latitudes, which is also still available from Roadside Press for $15. Digging into this anthology is a great way to see who else the press has published and experience a wide range of poetic styles in one place. In a world that increasingly glamorizes the shallow depths of AI “creativity”, buying from a press like this is a great way to support the authenticity of the indie underground.
Roadside Press also had a sister press called Gutter Snob Books that released my collection Proper Etiquette in the Slaughterhouse Line, so you know the publisher (Michele McDannold) has a great eye, if I can tout my own work for a moment. Working with her on our two books was a pleasure. She works damn hard to set the stage for success for every poet and book she publishes, really hustles to get those reviews, release special offers, and churns out great PR across social media. So if you want to support a truly admirable, hard-working press, this is a good one to check out.
